Two construction workers have received awards for saving the life of a colleague who suffered a heart attack on site last February.
Mansell’s Simeon Steel, a sub-agent from Glasgow, and Andy Scott, a joiner from Edinburgh, were working at St George’s School in Edinburgh when electrician Thomas Law collapsed on site.
They called an ambulance and administered heart massage and mouth-to-mouth resusc-itation. Paramedics said their action saved his life.
They were presented with a Royal Humane Society Award on Monday. Both had recently attended a company first-aid course.
Mansell’s managing director in Scotland, Colin Sutherland, said: “We are very proud that Simeon and Andy acted so promptly and professionally in an unexpected situation.”
