Willmott Dixon Turner has made the grade on a £15m education-sector deal in Hereford.
The firm held off a challenge from Laing O’Rourke, its only remaining rival for the Herefordshire College of Technology scheme.
A third contender, Alfred McAlpine, dropped out of the race earlier this year.
The job, which is known as the Hereford Learning Village, involves the design, demolition and construction of new buildings and the redevelopment of others on the Folly Lane site.
The buildings include classrooms and workshops, plus learning, resource and business centres.
Work on site is expected to begin before this year is out.
