Crane Services has ordered a 1,000t Liebherr LTM 11000-9.1 mobile crane, which will be the first to come to mainland Britain. The machine has a 100m telescopic boom and will be used as a heavy lift crane to back up the company’s three 500t Liebherr machine.
Digbits has reported a record month for orders of its excavator-mounted BAV Alligator Crusher attachments – it has sold two BAV3 units, one BAV4 and one BAV5. Agricultural buildings specialist AJ Griffiths Engineering has fitted its BAV3 to a JCB 3CX, replacing an excavator-mounted hammer and a static crusher.
HM Plant has renewed its fleet of product support vehicles with 23 Mercedes Sprinter vans. The vehicles are fully branded and will operate out of HM Plant’s regional depots.
Following two years of good experience with a brace of Volvo EC140Bs, Exeter-based Aardvark Excavations has replaced the excavators with a pair of new Volvo EC140BLCs. The contractor was particularly impressed by the existing machines’ reliability and residual values.
A-Plant has become the preferred supplier to Edmund Nuttall for its contract with the Welsh Assembly to widen a section of the A465 between Abergavenny and Gilwern.
Chicago Pneumatic has introduced a vibration-reduced pick hammer, the CP 0017. The unit is designed for renovation work like concrete chiselling and roughing, as well as chasing.
