John F. Hunt Demolition has gone into the red after unveiling a pre-tax loss of more than £2m.
The company specialises in both demolition and the hire of plant and machinery and is owned by John F. Hunt.
Latest annual results (12 months to 30 September 2005) published today show turnover higher at £21m (figure in the previous year: £19m). Hunt made a pre-tax profit of £220,000 in the previous year despite the need to make a £540,000 provision against liabilities and charges.
Hunt has 161 employees, with 55 of this number actively involved in the demolition work. The group’s employee costs in the latest year rose to £4.6m.
