Firms told to prepare for CIS draft subcontractor lists

Contractors are to be given details of their draft subcontractor lists for new CIS by the end of November, either by letter or CD-ROM, from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

If the lists are incomplete, firms are being advised to contact their trade federations. The final lists will be sent out in March.

Liz Bridge, taxation director at the Construction Confederation, said companies should also check they have sent in all their CIS 23, 24 and 25 vouchers.

Subcontractors should hold onto their mail carrier cover sheets from HMRC to use when querying their status. These include all key data held on them.
