Anglo-Holt Construction cuts annual turnover to £43m

By John Leitch

Anglo-Holt Construction has trimmed its annual turnover back hard, to £43m, as a result of a withdrawal from less profitable markets.

However, the building and civil engineering contractor’s latest pre-tax profit (12 months to 30 April) is still pretty thin, at just £360,000.

In the previous year, a turnover of £55m generated a profit figure of only £204,000. From this sum, a combination of the removal of £74,000 to pay taxation plus a dividend to shareholders running to £210,000 resulted in an £80,000 loss.

The director’s report states that there is an attractive forward orderbook and they are positive about the current year’s performance.

Three new directors have been brought in to assist in the day-to-day construction activities.

Anglo-Holt has 97 employees. The highest-paid director received £100,000.
