Datatag, the data-handling company for the plant registration scheme, is claiming an unusual success for its marking technology – in Bermuda.
The island has witnessed more than £4m-worth of scooter theft since 2000. In 2005, marking with Datatag’s technology became necessary for insurance purposes in a scheme backed by the Bermudan Police.
“Since then only four scooters have been reported stolen and two of those have been recovered,” said Datatag director Kevin Howells.
