Volvo denies Komatsu story

Volvo Construction Equipment has played down speculation in a local newspaper that it is set to increase collaboration with Komatsu in order to fend off competition from Caterpillar.

Volvo said: “Everything is wrong,” about the story, which ran in Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri.

“We have always said we will examine different options and this includes the collaboration with Komatsu,” said Volvo spokeswoman Beatrice Cardon. “We have never said the co-operation with Komatsu would be limited to producing the cab.”
