Bachy Soletanche secures controlling share in Vibro

Bachy Soletanche has taken an 80% controlling shareholding in Vibro Group, the vibroflotation and ground improvement contractor.

The two firms have worked together for several years, providing specialist services, establishing a collaborative working relationship.

Brendan Henry, the owner of Vibro Group, retains a 20% shareholding. Henry continues as general manager.

Based in Preston, Vibro has an annual turnover of £5m. Its specialist operations include dynamic compaction and band drain works.

n Lambert Smith Hampton, a subsidiary of Atkins has acquired Young & Butt, a surveyor and commercial property consultant based on the South Coast. The deal takes Lambert Smith Hampton’s network of offices in the UK and Ireland up to 30.

The sellers, who had founded the business, had built annual turnover up to £2.1m. Assets, at the end of October, were valued at £900,000.
