English Partnerships to offer brownfield advice

English Partnerships (EP) has today launched a set of new policy proposals and a practical toolkit aimed at reviving the fortunes of deprived urban areas. The Brownfield Guide, pitched at private developers and local authorities, offers advice on the process of building on the land and its full spectrum of uses. National brownfield adviser to EP, Professor Paul Syms, said the document would offer an 11-phase approach and a summary of good practice used by the regeneration agency when dealing with brownfield land.

A separate chapter deals with legislation and regulations as of October 2006, although Syms said he hoped that such guidelines would eventually be constantly updated on the EP website.
