Cowlin seals £23m academy contract

Cowlin Construction has sealed a £23m contract to develop the Merchants Academy in Bristol.

Cowlin beat off competition from Willmott Dixon and Kier.

The new comprehensive secondary school will replace the existing Withywood Community School and will see the construction of a new academy building with state-of-the-art technological facilities, increased community use, a new Youth Club and a Cadet detachment.

Work is due to start in the New Year and will complete in September 2008.
