Five bid for Olympic power station

Five firms are set to pick up the tender paperwork for the design and build of a key 132/11kv electrical substation within the Olympic Park planned for Stratford, east London.

The Olympic Delivery Authority has lined up EDF Energy Contracting, Siemens Transmission & Distribution, Enterprise Power Services, Scottish & Southern Energy, and the Freedom Group.

The substation will form an integral part of the electrical infrastructure for the Olympic Park and the winner of the contest is expected to emerge in April.
