SIG, the supplier of insulation, roofing, and interior products, has announced record sales and profits for 2006.
In a trading statement the firm revealed that sales were up 17% on 2005. These figures include sales of £65m from the US business, which it announced it was disposing of last November.
SIG believes that 2007 will realise growth in its insulation business, driven by the changes to Part L of the Building Regulations. This will offset an expected decline in demand for insulation upgrading in existing properties until the new grant scheme (EEC3) comes into effect in 2008. The scheme is expected to significantly increase grant-aided demand.
During 2006 the Group completed 23 acquisitions - 19 of which were in the UK and Ireland. These comprised eight in roofing and roofline, four in insulation, two in commercial interiors and five in specialist construction products.
The company’s preliminary results will be announced on 14 March.
