Skanska has taken a £64m deal to build an office


Skanska has taken a £64m deal to build an office complex at Crown Place in the City of London. The scheme, for Greycoat Crown Place Partnership, comprises 26,000m2 of office space and a 600m2 retail area over 18 storeys and includes two basement levels for parking, storage and plant.

Environmentally-friendly measures include geothermal piles to provide a direct energy source via a heat pump and photovoltaic louvers on the roof to provide solar energy to supplement the building's power source. Work on site stars immediately, with completion due in November 2008. Whitby Bird is the structural engineer Renton Howard Wood Levin is the architect.
