Two winners have emerged from the pack chasing a £100m housing deal on Merseyside. Kier Building Maintenance and Connaught will tackle the extensive Decent Homes refurb programme for One Vision Housing, a registered social landlord, which took over Sefton Borough Councils' entire stock at the end of this month.
Work starts on site in April and is due for completion within four years. The job involves revamping flats in 13 high-rise blocks, as well as works to terraced properties - a total of 11,000 homes in all covering Crosby, Strand, Litherland, Netherton, Southport and Orrell.
Andrew Spencer, One Vision's Housing Regeneration director, said that appointing the two firms as preferred bidders "reflects our confidence in both organisations that they can deliver on schedule and within budget".
Those firms now locked out of the Merseyside deal include Bullock, Rok, Bramall, Mansell, Lovell and Wates.
