Capita Group has announced a record set of annual results, with pre-tax profit up 18% to over £201m. Turnover was up 21% to over £1.7bn from £1.4bn.
Capita Symonds, the property and infrastructure consultancy area of the business, increased its turnover by 12.5% to £225.5m.
The company pointed to its role in the Catalyst Education consortium, selected for Lancashire County Council's £250m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, as well as its selection by Cambridge County Council as design partner on a seven-year framework deal, as key to its success over the year.
Managing director of Capita Symonds Bill Dye said: "At the beginning of 2007 we are well placed to continue our year-on-year growth, with a strong pipeline of new opportunities, a more diverse range of services and projects than any other UK consultancy, and a firm belief that our successful people, projects and performance are making a real difference in the UK property and infrastructure sectors."
