Hanson

Both the Daily Mail and The Financial Times report on Hanson’s end of year results and the fact that it has a £300m acquisition war chest as it looks to branch into new markets this year. The firm reported a 15% increase in operating profit.

 

Multiplex

The Financial Times reports on Multiplex’s results which show that the firm has returned to profit. Multiplex also stated that the completion of its £757m Wembley Stadium project was “imminent”.

 

Academies

The Guardian reports that Prime Minister Tony Blair’s £5bn academy programme has come under fresh criticism from the government’s spending watchdog the National Audit Office. The report claims that most of the £25m projects overrun their budgets by an average of £3m.
