The Central Procurement Directorate in Northern Ireland's Department of Finance and Personnel is inviting firms to bid for a £500m to £800m building and civil engineering framework.

Up to five operators will be appointed to the four-year framework agreement, which calls for integrated supply teams including contractors, designers, specialist subcontractors, suppliers and their supply chains to be involved.

The design and construct contracts will cover a wide range of projects, including: office accommodation, college/teaching facilities, libraries, workshops, laboratories, forest facilities, factories, storage facilities, amenity facilities, sports facilities, arts buildings, historic buildings, business/industrial units, site/park/estates, criminal justice facilities, harbour/marine developments, landscaping, public realm and regeneration schemes.

A market information day will be held this Friday (23 March 2007) at The Stormont Hotel in Belfast.

Potential bidders need to express their interest in the scheme by 26 April 2007.

The advertisment in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) follows a similar framework notice published in the OJEU last week by the Department of Education in Northern Ireland.

The four-year, £550m to £650m construction framework covers the Northern Ireland Schools Modernisation programme. Up to eight contractor-led teams will be appointed.

Firms are required to express interest in the framework by 20 April 2007.
