Gee Construction makes £2.4m pre-tax profit

Gee Construction has unveiled its latest annual results which show a lift in pre-tax profit to £2.4m, up from £1.8m in the previous year.

Latest financial results (12 months to 30 September 2006) reveal a climb in turnover to £38m (previous year: £33m).

"The outlook for all subsidiaries in the coming year is for continued increases in profitability and turnover," said the group in an accompanying statement.

Gee’s main operations are building and D&B contracts for industrial, commercial and residential clients. It also services contractors’ plant and machinery.

In the construction division, operations in south Wales are expected to make steady progress in 2007. The south east region has strengthened its contract management team in order to lift profits.

Gee’s highest-paid director received £316,000, representing a pay rise of £92,000, in addition to a pension contribution running to £31,000.

The group’s staffing number climbed to 100, with employees enjoying a total pension contribution figure of £240,000.
