Amec sells precast business

Amec has announced the disposal of Buchan Concrete Solutions, its precast concrete business, to the Roger Bullivant Group for an undisclosed amount.

Last year Buchan generated revenues of £29m and had net assets of £10.6m. It has 170 staff.

Amec chief executive, Samir Brikho, said: “I am very pleased that we have found a strong purchaser who wants to further develop and invest in another of AMEC's non-core businesses.

“The successful disposal of these businesses is a key objective for 2007. The process is going well and I look forward to providing the market with an update on the overall disposal process on 16 May 2007, when AMEC provides a trading update for its annual general meeting.”
