Velopark designer shortlist announced

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has announced its designer shortlist for the Velopark at the Olympic site.
The eight shortlisted firms, drawn after 100 expressions of interest, are:
- David Chipperfield
- David Morley Architects
- Dominique Perrault Architecte
- FLACQ
- Faulkner Browns with Heatherwick Studio
- Foreign Office Architects
- Hopkins Architects with Sanda Douma Associates
- Wilkinson Eyre
The short-listed teams will now be asked to put forward concept designs for the VeloPark. Their submissions will be assessed in late June with an announcement expected later this summer.
The ODA also announced its design jury for the scheme. These include Olympic cycling gold medallist Chris Hoy, Sir Nicholas Serota, Sunand Prasad and Kathryn Moore.
ODA chief executive David Higgins said: “This shortlist includes some of the world’s best design teams...the VeloPark will provide a lasting legacy of brand new cycling facilities for all ages and abilities and we want to ensure that this is as comprehensive and wide-ranging as possible within the confines of the site.”
