On the opening day of SED 2007, Barford has revealed a prototype tracked site dumper called Big-Trax-10.
The unit has a 10t payload and retains its articulated design but has tracks instead of wheels to reduce pressure when working on soft ground. It is powered by a 94kW Iveco engine driving all four tracks.
The dumper is one of two prototypes - the other is currently undergoing trials and testing.
Depending on the feedback received, production models could be available in September.
