Interserve has become the latest in a spate of construction firms to confirm that it is being probed by an Office of Fair Trading (OFT) review of tender activity in the construction sector.
In a regulatory announcement to the City, the services maintenance and building group said it was in correspondence with the OFT regarding 16 tenders between 2000 and 2005.
It said the tenders related to a part of the regional building division of its project services business and represented "a very small proportion" of the bidding activity during the period.
Interserve was the third company this week to issue a statement to the City in relation to the OFT's investigation.
Yesterday both Rok and Galliford Try admitted that the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is investigating.
The OFT began its investigation into cartel activity over two years ago and has since raided the offices of 57 companies.
