Jewson wins Hull homes scheme

Jewson has won a four year deal to supply materials for the regeneration of 33,000 homes in Hull.

The £2m contract was awarded to Jewson by Kingstown Works for the 10,000 homes it is managing within the project, which is part of Hull City Council's Decent Homes programme.

The merchant will provide all the materials needed to improve kitchens across the city, as well as general building materials such as bricks, paints, electrical equipment, flooring ironmongery and tool hire.

Kevin Whitaker, purchasing manager at Kingstown Works, said: "This project will change the face of Hull's social housing and improve the living conditions of many people.

"Jewson's experience of working in the social housing arena, supporting government initiatives, and its excellent record, make it an ideal partner for this ambitious project."
