SOL Construction, a Midlands-based subsidiary of Rok, has been appointed by Wolseley to construct its Sustainable Building Centre (SBC).
The SBC is being built at Wolseley's headquarters in Leamington Spa and will be a showcase of the latest sustainable building products and construction methods.
It will bring together all the energy efficient and recycled products available across Wolseley's brands. Sustainable products will be incorporated in all elements of the building, from walls to windows and lighting to landscaping.
Wolseley managing director Nigel Sibley said that the company has long been an advocate of sustainable building products and construction methods and was committed to helping the industry reduce its environmental footprint.
Terry Marsh, SOL divisional director, said: "The end result will show the way forward for clients and contractors, and will demonstrate that sustainable construction and a showpiece building can go hand in hand."
