The Financial Times reports on escalating problems at Metronet, the main contractor upgrading the London Underground. It reports on the derailment of a rush-hour central line train yesterday after it hit poorly stowed maintenance equipment.

The Independent and Financial Times report on a trading statement by housebuilder Redrow. Completions rose 2% to 4,823 with an average selling price that fell slightly to about £160,000.

The Independent reports on a £630m project to develop the Port of Belfast. The 20-year scheme was unveiled yesterday and will reclaim 120 acres of land.
