Polypipe buys Terrain

Polypipe has completed the acquisition of Terrain Drainage, the specialist in above-ground drainage in commercial applications.

The piping and sanitary systems manufacturer expects the acquisition to strengthen its commercial product portfolio, which includes plumbing and heating, pressure pipes, and sanitary, ventilation and water management systems.

Polypipe chief executive officer David Hall said: "Polypipe has already made its presence felt in the commercial market with a number of products launched for commercial applications.

"With the acquisition of the Terrain brand, Polypipe can significantly expand its presence in the commercial piping systems market and further penetrate the professional contractor and engineer base."

Terrain products will continue to be manufactured at its facility in Aylesford, Kent, which includes its pre-fabrication centre.
