Faster than expected growth in the UK economy during the second quarter of this year was partly fuelled by the continuing surge in construction.
Office for National Statistics' figures last week showed that gross domestic product rose by 0.8% in the three months to June. Cons-truction grew by 1.1% during the quarter.
One analyst said: "These early figures point to a continuing surge in construction growth and show that the industry appears to be well on its way to hitting the annual growth rate of between 2.5% and 3.5% predicted by industry forecasters.
"These figures are not the same as official figures provided by the Department for Business, but still provide a good indication of the strength of growth."
