Joint Contracts Tribunal completes Revision 1 to JCT05 suite

By Neil Gerrard

Contract authority body the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) has completed Revision 1 to its JCT05 suite, which covers changes made to the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.

The Minor Works Building Contracts also include amendments to insurance provisions that reflect changes in the insurance market, as well as an alteration to the way that the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is dealt with in the contract - it now requires the status of the employer to be identified.

Meanwhile the Design and Build Contract and other contracts containing provision for subcontractor collateral waranties, have been amended to deal with purchasers or tenants, funders and employers in one clause.

And where a warranty is for an employer, specific reference is made to the Subcontractor Collateral Warranty for Employer (SCWa/E).
