A-Plant is claiming to have the youngest and most advanced powered access hire fleet (running to 2,000 items) following the delivery of more than 250 new machines worth more than £5m from JLG, Skyjack, Genie and Niftylift. Another 100 units, worth £3m, will be delivered before the end of the year.
Included in the deal are Niftylift's 17m tracked access platforms, which have an 8.7m outreach. All the new wheeled machines have 4wd and on-board generators while the latest rough terrain scissor lifts have jack legs and many have generators.
Steve Shaughnessy, managing director for A-Plant's Specialist Products Division, said: "No other company can offer the quality and average age of the A-Plant Powered Access fleet."
A new specialised delivery fleet allows A-Plant to deliver machines more quickly while reduced running height and loading angles improve drivers' safety.
