TLS Vehicle Rental: fleet LEZ compliant

TLS Vehicle Rental said its entire fleet is compliant with the new London Low Emissions Zone (LEZ), which comes into effect from next February.

This means customers hiring  its vans and trucks will be able to enter the LEZ without having to pay a charge of £100 per day for vans and £200 for trucks. It also avoids the possibility of penalties of up to £1,000 for owners of non-compliant vehicles entering the zone without paying the charge.

Paul Bevan, maintenance services leader at TLS, said: "The LEZ is set to have a pretty big impact on which vehicles can be used within Central London without incurring these hefty charges. However, because we are committed to keeping the average age of our fleet at around 18 months, our entire fleet meets the Euro 3 emissions standards for commercial vehicles that is stipulated by Transport for London."
