The Times and Telegraph report that Galliford Try posted a 63% rise in annual pre-tax profit to £53m yesterday. The construction and housebuilding group said the market remains "buoyant".
The Times reports that Balfour Beatty has won £200m-worth of new projects in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and China.
The Guardian reports on a government crackdon on "go-slow" developers. It said the government would seek to close loopholes that allowed developers to avoid building on valuable land for years in an effort to boost the number of new homes.
The Guardian also reports on warnings by the Sustainable Energy Partnership that the government's proposed U-turn on the Meron rule (which requires developments to source at least 10% of their energy from renewable sources) may be illegal under the terms of the 2004 Energy Act.
