The British Association of Reinforcement (BAR) has been forced to withdraw adverts for the third time following complaints that its claims are misleading.
Earlier this year, the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) found that some BAR adverts had been denigratory to the steel construction industry.
It has now been forced to pull its adverts on 'flood resilience' and 'robustness' after the ASA found the claims in breach of its Code.
Any future BAR adverts will have to be approved by the ASA before publication and have text removed which could be interpreted as a comparative statement with other construction methods.
