Panaloc set to mobilise its portable onsite technology

An off-site construction company has been set up that will offer contractors the opportunity to make use of its portable technology on site.

Panaloc has the technology to design and manufacture structural components in the form of wall panels, roofs, pods and ceilings. The majority of manufacturing will be carried out at its Manchester site, but the portability of its machinery means that it can also be transported.

Panaloc founder Eric Dean said: "The modular nature of the machinery required to establish a mobile factory makes it quite feasible for a contractor to deliver the structures required for a particular development literally on site, after which it can be transferred to another once the project is complete."

Central to the production process created by the company is OSB4 from Kronoply, for which it has sole UK rights. Three or more layers of the oriented strand board are pressed together to create Magnum board, a solid wood construction system approved for use as walls, ceilings and roofs.

The system, which rivals timber frame construction, can be used to create buildings up to 10 storeys high without the need for any other structure.

Dean continued: "We can machine panels as a seamless operation that takes in light fittings and cable routes for walls and ceilings, utility cavities and door and window openings."
