The Constructor Skills Certification Scheme has recognised the UK Timber Frame Association’s (UKTFA) erector training and certification scheme as a route to obtaining a CSCS card.
Run in association with City & Guilds, the training programmes, which are due to become vocational qualifications in due course, are also to be extended to include timber frame designers and manufacturers.
Ray Curran, the UKTFA’s education and training manager, said: This interim approval by the CSCS board is a significant vote of confidence in what the timber frame industry is doing to move towards a fully qualified workforce.”
