Atlas Copco gives its QAX HardHat housing

Atlas Copco has introduced a range of portable generators based on its HardHat compressor housing.

The HardHat cover will be used on two families of QAX generators.

These are the QAX12, QAX20 and QAX30, rated at 12kVA, 20kVA and 30kVA respectively and working at 50Hz plus two 60Hz versions - the QAX24 and QAX35.

All five machines are powered by a European Outdoor Noise Directive compliant three-cylinder Deutz engine, making them suitable for urban and even night time use.

Using the polyethylene HardHat canopy eliminates corrosion and withstands occasional knocks to reduce maintenance and repair costs.

The firm has also introduced an auxiliary generator option for its Series 7 range of HardHat compressors making them capable of providing both compressed air and 12kVA of electric power - removing the need to hire two machines.

For those wanting more electrical power, Atlas Copco has extended the QAX generator range with the QAX40 and QAX60 rated at 40kVA and 60kVA at 50Hz or 50kVA and 70kVA at 60Hz.

These use the firm's steel XAS137 compressor chassis and canopy and are powered by a turbocharged and oil-cooled four cylinder Deutz engine.
