Construction businesses may be increasingly aware of site waste management plans (SWMPs), but they are still not putting them into practice, according to a survey by NetRegs.
SWMPs will be a legally binding requirement by April 2008 but, while 62% of companies surveyed were aware of them, 78% are yet to create one for their site.
The survey follows a similar study by NetRegs in January. Since then, awareness has doubled to 62%, but a third of people still don't realise SWMPs will be a legal requirement.
