China admits six dead in Beijing Olympic construction

China has admitted that six construction workers have been killed in the construction of the Beijing Olympic venues since 2003.

The country had previously refused to acknowledge that anyone had died, despite British newspaper reports claiming that 10 people had been killed building the National Stadium alone.

But officials said that two people were killed constructing the stadium.

They also claimed that the families of all six dead workers have been compensated.
