Developer Manhattan Loft Corporation is still looking for a replacement contractor at St Pancras Chambers after Laing O'Rourke walked-off the job last September.
The £80m job next to the newly refurbished St Pancras Station will contain 68 luxury apartments and a 245 bedroom hotel.
O'Rourke started on site in late 2006 but quit the job following a bust-up with the client over plans to phase the contract into two separate elements.
Galliford Try has been on site with a skeleton team to make the job secure ahead of news of a permanent replacement for O'Rourke.
A Manhattan Loft spokeswoman said: "No new contractor is on board at the moment but the project is moving ahead."
