Robertson establishes a stand-alone Highlands construction business

By John Leitch

Robertson has created a sixth regionally-based construction division. Based in a new office in Inverness, Robertson Highland is expected to grow to an annual turnover of £30m in the next three years.

Robertson’s five existing regions are: Northern, Eastern and Central Scotland as well as Tayside, with the fifth operation being the North-East England operation.

Previously, work in the Highlands had been undertaken by the Northern division which is headed by Frank Reid.

Raymond More has been handed the opportunity to run the Robertson Highland business as managing director. His top team includes operations director Peter Hunter and commercial director Brian Anderson.

More said that the reason behind the decision to set up a stand-alone unit for the Highlands was that the workload had been rising faster than in other regions.

In total, the Robertson Group has 11 divisions.

Existing projects in the Highland include the New Craigs Hospital in Inverness; the Invergordon hospital; 219 homes in Portree with Lochalsh & Skye Housing Association; and the Eden Court Theatre.
