Shortlists announced for £150m of projects in Basildon

Basildon Council has announced the shortlists for the £120m regeneration of Wickford town centre and a £30m sporting village project.

Barratt Homes; Bellway Homes; Community Solutions for Regeneration; and St Mowden Properties at the four firms lined up for the work in Wickford.

Meanwhile, Community Solutions for Leisure; DC Leisure Management; and Orion Basildon are on the shortlist for Basildon Sporting Village.

Announcements for preferred contractors are expected in October and December respectively.

The regeneration of Wickford will see the construction of 500 new homes and 2,600m2 of retail floor space.

The sporting village will include a 50m Olympic-sized pool, an eight-court sports hall and health and fitness suite.
