Metic Solutions buys Melayway Glass Assemblies and Space Decks Systems for £6.2m

Irish building systems and products group Metic Systems has bought UK-based Melayway Glass Assemblies for £3.8m and Space Decks Systems for £2.4m.

The two firms are expected to contribute an extra £23m in revenues to Metic's business in the current financial year.

Meanwhile, Melayway managing director Stephen Field has been appointed group chief executive for Metic Solutions.

Metic Solutions chairman Philip Marley commented: "We are delighted to announce the acquisitions of Melayway and Space Decks, two established and renowned businesses within the building systems sector."

The acquisition marks the latest chapter in a turbulent history for Space Decks Systems, which rose from the ashes of cladding firm Space Decks after that company went into administration last year.
