Land Securities hires Bland for demerger

Property firm Land Securities has hired Sir Christopher Bland to lead a demerger that is expected to cost shareholders £60m.

Sir Christopher will chair infrastructure and outsourcing arm Trillium, while Mastercard chairman Rick Haythornwaite will head up the company's retail and property business following the demerger, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Meanwhile the current Land Securities chairman Paul Myners has been appointed chairman designate of the London offices business.
