Sandvik Mining and Construction has chalked up a double success in Derbyshire, supplying drill rigs to two limestone quarries in the county with a combined output of more than 10 million tonnes per year.
Cemex Dove Holes Quarry will take the UK's first Sandvik DI600 DTH drill, while the adjacent Tarmac Tunstead Quarry is to receive a new Sandvik D245S. The DI600 is the largest of Sandvik's DI range at 28t, while the 39t D245S is the smallest drill from its American factory.
Sandvik's crusher and screen manufacturing subsidiary Fintec, has won a Queen's Award for Export Achievement.
The Award recognises a substantial and sustained increase in export revenues at the Northern Irish company.
