Scottish First Minister accused of compromising planning system

The Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has been accused of compromising Scotland’s planning system, it was recently revealed.

Salmond was heavily criticised by other MP’s for his handling of Donald Trump’s application to build a £1bn golf resort in Aberdeenshire. The main issue was his alleged meeting with Mr Trump’s representatives after the initial planning application was rejected.

Findings from an investigation by Holyrood’s local government committee were being debated yesterday, in reference to Salmond’s actions over Trump’s planning application, reported the Scotsman.

The application for a golf course on the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire is not the first incident of this kind, as ministers were also accused of interfering with a multi-million pound hotel application in Aviemore.
