Excavator operator pleads guilty to manslaughter

Excavator operator Michael Ernest Roys from Doncaster has pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter following the death of Alwyne Parkinson.

Parkinson was struck by a bucket that fell from the semi-automatic quick hitch fitted to the excavator Roys was operating.

He will be sentenced next month.
