ISG has bagged the £80m contract to build the London 2012 Olympic velodrome, putting the construction of all key Games’ venues in the hands of British firms.
The company beat off stiff competition from Carillion and FCC to win the deal to construct the 6,000 seat arena that will host indoor track cycling events.
It will also include the delivery of a BMX track and legacy conversion costs to include it into a road cycle circuit and mountain bike course.
ISG will now work with VeloPark design consortium Hopkins Architects on designs, with a view to start construction early 2009.
Olympic Delivery Authority chief executive David Higgins said the project would a massive legacy for cycling enthusiasts.

The contract win means British firms will now construct the three main venues, with Team McAlpine responsible for the Olympic Stadium and Balfour Beatty for the Aquatics Centre.
