Allu unveils new power mixer and pressure feeder

By Colin Sowman

Soil stabilisation equipment specialist Allu had a double debut on its SED stand with the UK’s first Power Mix PM600 and PF 7+7 Pressure Feeder - both destined for Staffordshire-based Eco Basements and Foundations.

The PM600 is a power mixing attachment for excavators and is capable of processing material up to 6m below the surface. Its rotating head mixes the binder, fed down the tube inside the main body, into the soil and is said to be ideal for improving materials such as clay, peat, mud and sludge.

The dipper-mounted attachment is plunged into virgin ground and the appropriate binder added at the pre-determined rate as the tool is withdrawn. Weighing over 10t, the unit is designed to fit carriers above 35t.

“Within 24 hours of doing the stabilisation and laying a mat, the excavator can drive onto what used to be mud, without sinking,” said Allu’s export sales manger David Maclynn.

Holding and dispensing the binding agent is done by the PF 7+7 – a twin-tanked unit capable of feeding up to 5kg/sec of the appropriate agent to the Power Mix head. By having twin 7m³ tanks there is no need to stop the stabilisation operation during refilling as this can be done on one tank while the other is still pumping.
