Combisafe adds new standalone fall-arrest option

Combisafe has introduced a stand-alone version of the fall-arrest system for workers unloading vehicles.

The Combisafe Loading System (CLS) uses two Alsipercha frames fitted with retractable fall-arrest blocks. The worker is connected to both frames and can access the entire length of a trailer, while retaining fall protection.

Previous systems used brackets welded to the building's steelwork to anchor the Alsipercha frames, where workers were connected to a single frame meaning their movement was restricted. With CLS, the Alsipercha frames are slotted into a base frame ballasted with concrete blocks of pea gravel. Levelling feet allow the system to be used on uneven ground.

One of the first users is Bovis Lend Lease on its contract to build Scottish Widows' new offices in Edinburgh.
