Work to install 200km of electrical cables in the powerline tunnels beneath the Olympic Park is complete, according to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
The £230m powerlines project is managed by J Murphy and the ODA, working with EDF Energy and the National Grid.
The cables were placed into two six kilometre tunnels which have been dug beneath the Olympic Park
ODA chief executive David Higgins visited to site today to congratulate workers on the work.
"With constructio work set to begin in the Olympic Park later this month, the delivery of the powerlines project later this month, the delivery of the powerlines project is vital in 'unlocking' the site for the large-scale development of world class venues and infrastructure," he said.
